Jorge Fontan AIA
Architect and Owner
Jorge Fontan, AIA, is a New York–based architect and founder of Fontan Architecture, an architecture and design studio focused on high-end residential and luxury projects. He is a Registered Architect in New York and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
Jorge holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, along with both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Architecture from the City University of New York.
Before founding Fontan Architecture, Jorge worked at leading architecture firms including Robert A.M. Stern Architects, where he contributed to projects known for design excellence, craftsmanship, and timeless architectural character. This experience helped shape his approach to creating refined, enduring residential architecture tailored to discerning clients.
Jorge began his career working in the family business of construction at a young age, gaining hands-on experience building and renovating before becoming an architect. This early foundation continues to inform his work today, allowing him to bridge design vision with technical execution and construction realities. He believes that great architecture is achieved through a deep understanding of both design and how buildings are actually made.
At Fontan Architecture, Jorge works closely with clients to create highly personalized homes balancing architectural clarity, material richness, and long-term value. His work emphasizes thoughtful planning, craftsmanship, and designs that age gracefully over time.
