Tribeca Penthouse Renovation
- Duplex Penthouse, Renovation
- Tribeca, Manhattan, NYC
This project is a full renovation of a duplex penthouse apartment in Tribeca. The design is guided by a principle of simple elegance, where restraint and precision create a calm, highly resolved interior. The architecture emphasizes material continuity, and refined detailing to produce a space that feels effortless and complete.
The kitchen is fully custom, composed of eucalyptus wood cabinetry with a subtle but clear natural grain, paired with integrated glass doors. The material palette is controlled and deliberate. We introduced metal reveals at the toe kick and transition between the cabinetry and stone countertop, establishing crisp lines and consistent shadow gaps. The marble countertop extends into a full-height slab backsplash, creating a continuous surface that reinforces the clarity of the design and elevates the overall composition.
We incorporated wide plank white oak flooring runs throughout the residence, providing warmth and continuity across both levels of the duplex. The floors establish a quiet foundation that supports the material palette without competing for attention.
We designed the bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling slabs, minimizing grout lines and emphasizing surface continuity. This approach heightens the sense of scale while reinforcing the overall precision of the detailing.
We carefully integrated lighting as part of the architecture, using accent lighting to strategically define spaces, highlight materials, and support function, while maintaining a restrained and cohesive visual environment.
The residence is curated with a selection of furniture and artwork scaled to the proportions of the space. Each element is selected to complement the architecture, contributing to a cohesive interior that reflects a high level of design discipline and material refinement.
